Membership at StartupWA

StartupWA has two types of membership. Why? Because startups need a strong, focused voice — and the ecosystem needs a way to connect and support them.

Why Two Types of Membership?

• Clear representation: Ordinary Members are startup founders, or those working or investing in a startup; Associate Members are all other supporters.

• Tailored advocacy: StartupWA speaks up on issues that matter most to startups, while giving supporters a way to contribute.

• Inclusive community: Everyone passionate about startups has a way to be involved, without diluting the startup voice.

ORDINARY MEMBER

Who is this membership level for?

• Startup Founders and Co-founders

• Startup Staff & Team Members

• Investors (Angel, Venture Capitalists etc)

Why join as an Ordinary Member?
Ordinary Members are the core of StartupWA. You are the builders, the risk-takers, and the investors who directly shape Western Australia’s startup future. StartupWA’s advocacy and representation are focused on your needs.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER

Who is this membership level for?

• Corporate representatives and industry leaders

• Government and public sector employees

• Academics, researchers, and students

• Technology enthusiasts

• Community advocates (e.g., Innovation Hubs, Accelerators, Incubators etc) 

• Anyone with a keen interest in supporting the WA startup scene

Why join as an Associate Member?
Associate Members are the connectors. You strengthen the ecosystem, share knowledge, and help amplify the voice of startups. While advocacy focuses on the challenges startups face, associates play a vital role in making WA’s ecosystem stronger and more inclusive.
